There are at least four significant values here (digits 1, 4, 3 and 2) in the number.

So, this number cannot have come from a different number which undergoes a rounding to fewer than four significant figures, because if we say round off a number like 143211 to three significant figures, we would get 143000 instead of 143200.

So, the lowest value of x is four.

Five and six are also okay here, since numbers like 143200.111111 can be rounded off to six significant figures by considering the first six digits, in which case this would become 143200 (and here, the "0"s are significant as it forms part of the first six digits of the number).

I might not have explained this properly, but "0" can sometimes be significant and in other cases not so.

Given value = 143200
Possible x = 4, 5, 6
The value before being corrected could be:
e.g. value = 143210, then by being corrected to 4s.f., the digits after the "2" becomes "0"s.
e.g. value = 143201, then by being corrected to 5s.f., the digits after the "0" becomes "0"s.
e.g. value = 143200, if corrected to 6s.f., it is still "143200".
