A is 3/5 of B
C is 1/2 of A
B contains 16 L

We use units here.

Suppose C is 1 unit and A is 2 units. We will run into the problem of not being able to divide A by 3. So, we will let A be 6 units instead.

Let A = 6 units.
Then, B = 10 units and C = 3 units.

10 units = 16 L
1 unit = 1.6 L
19 units = 3.04 L = 3 L + 0.04 L = 3 L 40 mL

The purpose of making the units whole numbers is to make it easier to visualise, since whole numbers are easier to deal with than fractions. Also, this facilitates easier drawing of model diagrams.
